The Half-Stratford Players, a fledgling troupe formed in 2002, produce only original scripts, always for drama festival entry. The club's first production, "Rescuing Robyn" {an action-packed medieval dramedy about euthanasia}, was lauded primarily for its fight sequences, which 2002 Theatre B.C. North Shore Zone Festival adjudicator Raimund Stamm described as the best he'd ever seen. The group's sophomore effort, "Festival Fever" {which lampooned the competitive theatre scene}, won The People's Choice Award for Best Production at The 2004 Theatre B.C. North Shore Zone Festival. "Master & Mistress" {a rollicker about a same-sex wedding} was invited to The 2005 Theatre B.C. Mainstage Festival in Nanaimo and honoured there in a variety of categories. In 2007, the organization's mounting of "QUAD" {an experimental piece about adopting a special needs child} earned a Special Merit Award for Creative Virtuosity at The Theatre B.C. North Shore Zone Festival of Plays.
